Meliboea

In Greek mythology, Meliboea referred to 3 different people.
- The wife of Magnes, who named the town of Meliboea in Thessaly after her.The town of Meliboea became kingdom in eastern Thessalia(North Magnesia).Nowadays Meliboea (Melivia) is a munipacility of Larissa prefecture. The exacly place of Ancient Melivia (Meliboea) is not known.
- Famous kings of Meliboea was:
- King Poeas (Argonaut), friend of Hercules.
- Son of Poeas, king Philoctetes,famous archer, participant in the Trojan War
- One was the only Niobid spared when Artemis and Apollo killed them. She was so upset that she changed her name to Chloris ("the pale one").
- The other was a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys and mother of Lycaon with Pelasgus.
