Location of Hitachinaka in Ibaraki prefecture
Hitachinaka (ひたちなか市; -shi) is a city located in Ibaraki, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 152,403 and the density of 1,538.96 persons per km². The total area is 99.03 km².
The city was founded on November 1, 1994, after the cities of Katsuta and Nakaminato were consolidated together.

It proceeds development in the city for the commuter town in adjoining Mito Cityand the reasons for the international harbors urbanization with the Hitachi Naka port that can be renewed etc. now.
