Donald son of Ragnall

Donald son of Ragnall was an Norse-Gael and the ancestor of the MacDonalds (MacDonald means 'Sons of Donald'). Donald was the grandson of Somerled another Norse-Gael and son of Ragnall (Norse: Rognvald, Gaelic: Ragnall). His grandmother was Raghnailt, daughter of Olaf I of the Isle of Man.
